I won again. Oops. If I'm not careful this blog will become one big cockroach infestation. Especially if this Mama has her way.

Hello girlies. Welcome to the next round! Mai non, le cafard is not a verb. It is a noun. Clearly. 'Owever she -is- somewhere French. But not in a call centre. Le cafard does not 'ave access to a telephone.

la cucaracha is starring in a film with gerard depardieu.

or is crawling on one of those tourist signs in paris that refute any of the claims made by 'The Da Vinci Code' regarding their landmarks.

Nimmersatt said...

What le cafard is doing takes great talent and years of training. Like starring with Gerrard only different.

(It seems she is also sending an envoy to Greendale to keep Grot in line. Bet it isn't working.) ;0)

ooh! is it practising that technique called 'parker' (only spelt frenchified) that involves jumping over things and bouncing everywhere instead of walking normally, as featured in a madonna film clip and the latest james bond?

Nimmersatt said...

cool! No. But apparently you can learn that technique just down the road from my house for just five quid a lesson. It sounds very dangerous!

gumtreefid farmer said...

tuch! you totally should! except with a helmet and stuff. . .

the godroach is making the perfect café de lait. many years of training, plus a certain amount of natural talent.

Nimmersatt said...

Lovely guesses. However, the cockroach is somewhere in the world of music.

Gretta said...

le cafard is playing John Lennon in the Cirque du Soleil production of "love"

her little round glasses keep slipping off and tripping her

The godroach is wearing a beautiful silk dress doing the can-can at the Moulin Rouge.

BBB

Nimmersatt said...

Wonderful guesses folks. I wondered what you'd do with the clues. Clue the next: the cockroach has remarkable powers of seduction. (But no, she's not a moulin rouge dancer).

ah, the cockroach is either an accordion or violin player, strolling down the banks of the Seine in a stripey top and beret, serenading the tourists at their restaurant tables.

Le dieucafard est crawling, red and sticky, in the tortoiseshell lipstick case of Brigitte Bardot

(i originally intended to do that all in french - lucky i gave up early!)

the cockroach is doing a wonderful impersonation of Edith Piaf singing 'La Vie En Rose' in human-drag.

Nimmersatt said...

Wow! Brilliant guesses! Itchy is on the right track, in that the cockroach's talent and training are primarily in the area of singing.

itchy fingers said...

you mean there are French singers apart from Edith Piaf?
this is going to be a hard one, isn't it?

um, ooh, hang on!

the cockroach is The Phantom of the Opera!
or somewhere within.

oh, see, now you've done it twice, grotty.

i haven't been guessing cos i don't know any french music except des hurlements de leo, and the boys aren't exactly sexy, just funky to da max.

Nimmersatt said...

Hiya! I have been debating whether to give you the key clue that I have been witholding in the interest of inspiring interesting guesses, or whether to give you another crypticish one to see where you take it... Hm. Eeny, meeny, miney, clue:

Le cafard 'as a penchant for fortune telling.

PS, to put Itchy out of her misery: though the cockroach IS a singer, she is not a French singer. she is not any particular singer. (Unless she is the world famous soprano Cafardette Marron)

Nimmersatt said...

GTG's comment just came through. hopefully I am bringing an end to her misery too.

itchy fingers said...

i hope that was the cryptic clue.

gumtreefid farmer said...

nope.

the cockroach is singing in a french brothel. and telling fortunes.

so there!

the cockroach is a gypsy whore mentioned in some french song that you can only learn after years of training and dedication.

my brain hurts.

Nimmersatt said...

Ah! Itchy is getting fairly close. Okay, no more cryptic. The cockroach is in an opera

Anonymous said...

the only opera I know is Cosi Fan Tutte, because of the movie with Toni Collette. And I'm fairly certain it didn't have a gypsy whore in it.

I think that puts me out of the running.

good luck everyone else!

Gretta said...

come on, itchy - have you never heard of wikipedia?

i have searched my oxford hist of music and my groves dict of music

sacre bleu! le cafard est rampe dans le moucher sanglant de Mimi

Anonymous said...

here is my last ditch guess based entirely on a google search for 'french opera gypsy'.

the cockroach is Carmen, or on Carmen or somewhere near Carmen.

*smiles hopefully*

Nimmersatt said...

congratulations to Itchy, the new Winner and cockroach hideur. The Cockroach is playing the title role in Carmen. She has trained for many years as an opera singer and has a beautiful voice. Carmen is a gypsy who falls in love with a soldier bur refuses to be faithful to him cos that's not her thang, and she wants to be free to use her remarkable powers of seduction to snare other blokes. She does a tarot reading one day and discovers that she and her lover are both going to die. I can't rembember the rest of the story, but it's got beautiful music.

Nimmersatt said...

and it is French.

yay to itchy!

thanx to our host for an exciting game
