Cockroach, hiding

I have been playing a guessing game obsessively, and I have won! This means I now have the honour of hiding the cockroach.

Hide the cockroach has very simple rules.
1. Someone hides a cockroach (in this case, I have)
2. Anybody who wishes to can make guesses as to the whereabouts of the cockroach (that includes anonymous guesses as I have changed the settings on my blog so anyone can comment)
3. At intervals I will provide clues as to the whereabouts of the cockroach. Guess as many times as you like between clues.
4. Whoever guesses correctly wins, and gets to hide the cockroach next.

So. Cockroach hidden. Over to you...

the cockroach is filing reverently through Harrods with a group of American tourists.

the cockroach is poised to win a controversial reality T.V show, despite or perhaps because of its extreme cultural differences to the other players and audience.

the cockroach is emblazoned across an australian flag. (has been keeping up w ausn politics)

the cockroach is the new drummer for Crowded House.

feel free to re-name yr cockroach, TF - Prince William?

Amelia is nestling in the armpit of John Howard's "Born again Greenie" t-shirt

The cockroach, who at my mother's request will henceforth be known as Archie, is enjoying all these Australian themed guesses and has asked me to suggest that you continue along that line...
Great to see you all here!

The cockroach is on a hosepipe in Benalla fighting a fire?

the cockroach is out hunting the 6-7 metre shark currently living around Phillip island.

Either that, or it has recently been thrown into Villawood Detention Centre for not having a valid Refugee Visa.

Gretta said...

Archie was swimming fast on Steve's trail, but the stingray got in first

gumtreefid farmer said...

oo - it's snuggled up on a piece of fairybread!

gumtreefid farmer said...

archie is riding the tail of the comet!

(itchy, the reality tv one makes me giggle every time)

gumtreefid farmer said...

am i the only one playing, then?

the cockroach *is* uluru.

itchy fingers said...

i was waiting for another clue, but i don't think we're getting one.

um, is the cockroach touring with the Big Day Out?

or eating French Onion Soup and Lemon Tart at Babka?

or searching for Tassie Tigers in the southwestern wilderness?

Gretta said...

yeah, i'm waiting for another clue too

is Archie also waiting, whiling away the time knitting as he watches David Hicks on the CCTV?

gumtreefid farmer said...

clues are for wosses and girls.

the cockroach is dying slowly at gallipoli. but it's happy, cos it's got mateship.

Nimmersatt said...

Hello! Sorry, I dropped the pace! I went out after work last night so didn't come on line.

So you wanna clue? The cockroach is somewhere beautiful but frightening.

itchy fingers said...

le sigh.

i have spent all day trying to think of witty guesses to go with your clue, but have, alas, failed.

perhaps it's the mention of fear.
so, i will boringly guess;
in the middle of that mini cyclone that tipped over a train in nsw(?) last week?
swimming in the great barrier reef with attendant sharks?
attending the Logies?

Gretta said...

le cockroach hideur cannot afford to drop le pace!

but you have to be clever, itchy, or i dont' get inspired

Archie is frozen in the iceberg that has floated into Sydney Harbour

Archie is on the stained glass window in St paul's (melbourne that is). This is frightening as Archis an atheist, but is so scared by the beauty of his/her suroundings that mayybe the religious really are right after all.

or maybe, Archie is between the strings and the soundboard of RIchard TOgnetti's new old $10 mill Del Gesu violin

beautiful, but those strings can cut!

There's an iceberg in Sydney Harbour? I just googled 'Sydney harbour iceberg' and all I can find is references to iceberg lettuce at romantic wedding receptions on the harbour, and a plastic iceberg that was towed into the harbour in 1978 as a publicity stunt for Dick Smith, or something - haven't read in detail.

Anyway, Archie isn't there, Grot. He is somewhere further south and further inland.

BBB, I'm not sure of Archie's religious beliefs. He's very focussed on what he's doing right now and isn't able to discuss religious, or indeed any matters with me. If he does believe in God he may be offering up a quick prayer at the moment.

Itchy, I'm sure the Logies are scary, but are they beautfiul?

itchy fingers said...

well, beauty is subjective.

Nimmersatt said...

Was going to post another clue, but noone's guessed yet.
At least we know Archie hasn't eaten itchy's neighbours. Phew!

Gretta said...

heehee, tricked you with the iceberg - i was counting on the expat "oh, i'm missing good stuff" syndrome, and it worked!

mm, further south and inland - is Archie in Wagga wagga, birthplace of my sister? Can't think what the hell he'd be doing there, so

is he chained to a red gum in the Barmah forest? beautiful leaves, scary firewood collectors...

Nimmersatt said...

Grot, the sole faithful player, you are in the right state with your second guess here. Though Wagga Wagga could be fun. Spent quite a bit of time in Wagga Wagga over the years I have. (Cousins went to uni there)... where the blue gums are growin, the murrumbidgee's flowin, beneath that sunny skyyyy! Ooh, I'm pleased I chose an Austalian theme!

Archie is crawling in JT's hair (in Wodonga).
Watch out for the hair spray Archie!

gtg is off touristing, and no doubt itchy is gallivanting down Brunswick Rd, so it's left to us domesticos

Archie is shouting "cooee" to his mates from the top of the bronze koala (can't remember the name of the town, but near the Grampians)

beautiful view, but gusty

ooo, grotty, you bad thing! i told a bunch of nth americans about the iceberg and we all tutted gravely and muttered about global warming.

sorry i haven't guessed, tuchfrau. yr clues have given me pause for thought .

archie is rocking out at earthcore (he's not comfortable in crowds).

gumtreefid farmer said...

i have indeed been touristing. i have photos of me standing in front of things.

itchy fingers said...

i can't remember which state Wagga Wagga is in - Vic or NSW (hangs head in shame.)

Um, assuming NSW (where I will be going for 2 weeks tomorrow so won't be able to guess more :(

is it climbing the harbour bridge?
or the Opera House?
or sunbathing at Bondi Beach? (lots of scary speedo wearing hairy men, i presume, who are the frightening part.)
um, can't think of anything else right now, mind too full of packing and Hume studying.

have fun with the game without me!

Nimmersatt said...

Geographically, Grot is getting very very close now. I did have a different clue planned, but I think that should suffice.

Itchy, I think you need to look more closely at my previous clue...

GTG I don't think I have given you enough credit for the beauty and elegance of your guesses. Fabulous guesses love!

gumtreefid farmer said...

aw, really? ta, tofu.

i can't remember what's near the big koala. i do remember the birds nesting in its nostrils, though. very striking.

is archie feeding the possums at the grampians?

Gretta said...

archie is attached to a nipple in the pouch of one of the attacking kangaroos at Zumsteins

or, Archie is sharpening his plectrum for the Port Fairy Folk Fesitval

beautiful, because he's having a good hair day

scary, because insects are banned, like the Mexican wave at the cricket

Anonymous said...

hey GTG adn Tuchfrau, do you want to buy the Harbour bridge? it's going cheap...

Nimmersatt said...

ha ha anonymous!
BBB I think your guesses are brilliant. I only praised Lian's cos I dont' think I've given them enough attention. I shall never forget Archie's religious crisis on the stained glass winder. As to great Western, 'fraid not. As Grot and GTG have surmised, Archie is somewhere in the Grampians. The next clue: he is somewhere in the Wonderland Range. And he is still feeling very anxious.

gumtreefid farmer said...

is he about to be sizzled in a bushfire?

(p.s. ignore my parental unit. they were *sloshed*. um-mah!)

gumtreefid farmer said...

were too!

(it's okay cos now i am *sloshed* - snap!)

aren't you glad you got us to play on yr blog, tuchfrau?

Nimmersatt said...

He is very very CLOSE to a lookout. I can't remember if this particular lookout overlooks the Gap, but it is a very HIGH lookout. But he's not there, he's nearby. And he is feeling very nervous.

Gretta said...

sad creatures that we are, bbb and i have actually got out our grampians map...

but a while since we've been there, so can't remember exactly

is Archie underfoot at the Nerve Test?

gumtreefid farmer said...

archie is running round in a flouncy white dress screaming "miranda!"

(can't remember the grampians that well so is changed the subject, er, being very creative)
